Little Nightmares was a massive platformer hit with survival horror elements scattered throughout. Overall, the game follows a young girl named Six who is tasked with escaping a place known as the Maw. During The Game Awards 2019, we got the reveal of a sequel. Little Nightmares 2 is releasing this year, though we don’t have a specific release date attached quite yet. While we can expect the same overall gameplay elements and mechanics, we do know that the game will follow a new protagonist. After Six escapes the Maw, players meet up with a new character known as Mono. Joining on his journey, players will be going through new hazardous environments all while in an attempt to track down a mysterious broadcaster that is controlling a location known as the Black Tower.

Chances are you are fully aware of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice which released back in 2017 from development studio Ninja Theory. The video game focuses on a deep story-driven narrative of a young woman named Senua who travels to great lengths battling her inner demons as she seeks the help of Hela, a goddess that may bring back her dead lover back to life. It’s a very detailed world with hack-and-slash gameplay along with puzzle solving. However, for those that are seeking some more of the game franchise are in luck.

Hellblade: Senua’s Saga was announced during The Game Awards in 2019 with a cinematic trailer. We, unfortunately, we didn’t get any information about what we can expect from the game but it does look to be a next-generation focused title. Of course, with that said, Microsoft has stated that there wouldn’t be an Xbox Series X exclusive for at least two years. This means that we can expect this installment to also a release on the Xbox One platform as well.

Super Meat Boy was a hit when it launched back in 2010. The indie title acted as a fast-paced platformer where players take the role of a red cubed character without any flesh that was on a quest to save his girlfriend, Bandage Girl. Kidnapped by the diabolical Dr. Fetus, players are forced to maneuver around dangerous traps, timing jumps and landing carefully within a safe ground. Now, the game has a sequel coming out in 2020 called Super Meat Boy Forever.

This sequel will play similarly to the original installment but with players having access to two characters. Dr. Fetus is up to no good once again as he has now kidnapped Meat Boy and Bandage Girl’s child, Nugget. The two must once again fight through a series of dangerous landscapes as they attempt to rescue their child.

Updated December 8, 2018: Super Meat Boy Forever should launch on Xbox One in April 2019.

Super Meat Boy Forever is the long-awaited sequel to Super Meat Boy. The original is regarded as a cult classic by many due to its tight controls and punishing gameplay. When the sequel was announced, many gamers were ecstatic to play a modern Super Meat Boy game on Xbox One because, right now, only the Xbox 360 version is backward compatible. While the original Super Meat Boy looks great even today, you can easily notice the blurry presentation on a 4K display. Luckily, Super Meat Boy Forever is targeting 4K 60 FPS on Xbox One X.

Today, a fan asked the Super Meat Boy team on Twitter if Super Meat Boy Forever was coming to Xbox One and would target 4K 60 FPS on Xbox One X. The developer confirmed that the game was indeed coming to Xbox One and targeting 4K 60 FPS on Microsoft's latest console. Due to the unclear nature of the conversation, we reached out to the studio for clarification and received the following response.

We are aiming for 4K and you bet your butthole it'll be 60FPS. https://t.co/gZB6nfzwJI

Super Meat Boy Forever Release Date Xbox One

We are aiming to support 4K 60 FPS. Half of our assets are vector, which means its easy to do 4K, the other half are not so we're exploring how to make it look as good as possible in 4K. The game runs well at 4K 60 FPS in our initial tests, but if the end result is a 4K game that doesn't run at 60 FPS, we'll keep it at 1080p since that frame rate is so important to us and what people expect. If we can pull it off, it'll be 4K 60 FPS on all the consoles and configurations where it works well.

Hopefully the game will run at 4K 60 FPS on Xbox One X, but frame rate is always more important than resolution. Maintaining 60 FPS throughout the tense levels should be the main priority. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more about the game or get word of a concrete release date.
